My buddies 97 speedo died two weeks ago.

Check eBay!!! There's one there right now for $23 but it's for GXE/GLE.

i have the same problem, a couple weeks back someone wrote and said they contacted a Nissan dealer and they were told the Speedometer head unit is shot. The head costs 250 and the labor is around 250 as well. I'm planning on just buying a used speedo and replacing it...hopefully the odometer works on that one.

Mine is half and half dead, but I want to try to clean and lubricate the odometer gears before I start spending money.
