Cutting Plastic For Clear Tails

Hey there, I just wanted to know how u people with 97-99 maxima's cut the plastic flourescent light cover when clearing your tails. I tried with scissors and it just chipped and cracked then i tried heating it up and then cutting but it shrunk. Please tell me!

Scissors didn't work for me either. I've yet to find something that works really well, but I used some kitchen scissors. The kind you use to cut artichokes and stuff. They're very sharp. I could cut a finger off with them.

I think you are supposed to "score" the plastic on both sides and it should snap at the break. I haven't done it but just a suggestion. Try using an exacto knife.

A Sharp exacto and a metal ruler worked relatively well. I cut one side of the plastic with the exacto, then flipped it over and cut the other side the rest of the way through.

u know i wish Nissan just made the red/clear combo from the first place. It would save a lot of time and anger.

Don't use any of those, trust me. Go to a hardware store, and ask for a glass cutter. They have this blade that sticks out of the side, and u slide it along the glass/plastic, and it will score it and eventually you can snap it off cleanly. It makes for a very clean edge, just ask anyone who's seen my clear rears.
