thinking about taking the hamburger off the back...

Yeah, I'm thinking of taking my hamburger off the back of my '99, but I'm going to leave the word MAXIMA so it doesn't look too plain. Anyone have pictures of this done on their cars?

FLOSSED BURGER

Not very clear, but you get the idea. Cleans up the back end nicely.

I have a 96 GLE and it came without the burger in the back. I do have one up front though, which I like. I might replace it with a GTR emblem and go all ricey with it! I wonder where I should put the other GTR in the back? Hehe...

well i used and hair dryer and heater the adhesive up alittle bit to make it easier to come off. Then use floss or plastic fishing string and slip it between the the symbol or lettering and the body of the car. Do saw like motions or whatever you have to get it off. just go to autoparts store and pick out a adhesive remover that is okay to use on paint and stuff( of course do it beofre you start the mini project). I bought some 3m stuff that worked very very well. It cost me like $2.50 or somehting like that.

I don't know, I have a Sterling Mist GXE 96 but i am worried as hell that the crap from the letters MAXIMA is gonna be left behind. Like the sun burned in the letters into the paint and the remains will be showing. You can use goo gone to get the adhesive off but i am just worried that if it doesn't look good, I can't get it back to where it was.

Use meguiars Step #1 (of 3) paint cleaner. It works wonders! I removed my pinstriping and it left no remains

that is why you wax it. and dependig on what color your car is use color cure. someone keyed my dad's A6 and i fixed it with colorcure, best $6 i ever spent. I also used it when i ran into my grandftaher airplane. Onely certian colors work though. just wax it and you will be just fine!

why wouldn't you? If the paint shows an outline from where they were, it should just make it easier for you
