manual trans. remote startup

I was wanting to buy a remote startup kit for kicks to run the AC before I get there to combat the Texas heat. This would be so much fun! But then it hit me, doesn't the clutch need to be pressed down? Or does it? Or can the system do this? Check it out: it's a great deal!

it's easy, if you look behing the clutch pedal you'll see the little security button. All you have to do is clamp that button down and bingo!.. Hey if you ever leave the car in gear and remote start the car and the car goes off and kills somebody don't come back on here asking why that happened.

You would have to by pass the clutch but it can be done, I got it done on my 5 speed. Just make sure you don't leave the car on gear when you hit the autostart.

ok my friend, disregard if you are were pre-informed. You can buy the clifford G4 alarm, and have it work with your manual transmission. Kindly do not do as one member said ( not his exact words , but he instructed you to depress the clutch switch) ,he also warned that he will not be responsible for any accidents occuring form your actions.
Now to my point , you will need to bypass the clutch switch using a relay. I do not know the exact schematics but if you are intested I will ask my installer for the instructions.
I have the Clifford system on my car . The coolest thing is , you must leave car in neautral(the remote cannot be programed in gear ,therefore it will not auto start) , program the remote, remove key(motor still running),exit car,and arm car(motor will shutdown). It is very simple. If someone enters car and shift into any gear, the car will not auto start. If someone triggers the alarm , the car will not auto start. I can also buy a module to start the car from my computer , via Cliffnet! So good luck and sorry for the long reply.

Take the two wires in the switch behind the clutch pedal( i think the switch is brown) and connect them. The two wires must show continuity for the remote start to work. Only bad thing is your cruise control wont work cause it thinks the clutch is down. You can do the relay thing to but im too......tired to get into that.

97 with starter

I have a 97 manual with a remote starter on it. And I had it on my 93 altima. There is 2 swithes on the clutch one is to start and one is to work the cruse. In my 89 sentra I learned that a remote starts is a bad thing on a manual. I have installed a mercury switch on my e-brake, and tied in to the hood pin kill switch on the remote starter. I have to have the e-brake all the way up so that I can start the car. Even with it in get and the e-brake up the car will only bounce a few inches and kill the motor.

Do manual tranny have neutral position switch? I'm pretty sure ours does...cuz I'm looking at the factory service manual. It's the same harness that tells the ecu you're in reverse. You know where the tranny filler hole is? There's a black wire next to it...Follow the wire up to the top of the tranny and you'll see where the harness is. I'd post the schematic, but I think it's different across the years, cuz my 99 FSM is diff from my bro's 2k FSM.
