Can I check to see if Airbags are intact?
I'm looking at a Maxima. Its a great price but I'm worried it might have been in a frontal crash (paint mismatch on front bumper cover) and I don't know if the airbags were replaced properly. It looks like the airbag cover on the passenger side is kind of bulging and doesn't match. Also, the interior is tan, but the steering wheel is black! Is that normal on 97s and up? On my moms 96 SE the steering wheel is tan.
Any way to check and see if the airbag is physically there? Thanks!

A black steering wheel is STANDARD on the SE models, I believe. The car is an SE if it has white gauges. I think this is the case because a tan leather steering wheel would look like crap. I have a 98 deep evergreen SE with tan interior and a black steering wheel
I think my lame homepage has a pic or two if you would like to see. Click the link on the left.

OMG!!! i found out it was a leased car in TX and got totalled and issued a salvage title. Then it was rebuilt this past april. This explains why I was so curious of the black engine bay with a green body, and a airbag cover that looked like it didn't fit. pfft.
