An org member came by to have me install H&R's on Llluminas today.

First off, these are nice shocks!! They even come with all new bushings for the rear mounts. but no screwdriver like AGX's

The front struts have nice compression dampening and a quick rebound, which I think is what makes Tokico's ride so nice. The adjustment does change both compression and rebound and you can clearly feel this if you play with them prior to installation.

The test drive after installation said it all. The Llluminas are as firm as the AGX's but ride wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. They absorb the bumps with no harshness or bouncyness at all like we feel from the AGX's. The car really feels like an SE (sports edition) should. Body roll is all but eliminated, the car they were installed on had no rear sway bar.

Bottom line, there expensive but now I know why. I would have to say that the Llluminas are probably the best direct replacement components on the market for our cars right now.

If you really want to maintain a good ride with excellent handling on a lowered vehicle, these are worth every penny.

Yes, they're great setup, IMO. I'm the one who Tom installed H&R's with Illumina's.

I wholeheartedly recommend this setup to ANYONE who's looking for a good, yet firm ride with minimum sacrifice in comfort.

First off, I rode in Tom's so-called "Frankenstein" suspension setup, and IMO it is a great ride. I never rode in a full AGX setup, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was a great firm and comfortable ride. I would recommend his setup to anyone who's doesn't want to spring for the Illumina's (yes, they're on the pricey side...).

As for my butt-experience... Right now, it's dialed in at 1 in the front (softest) and 2 in the back. (Both fronts and rears have 1 to 5 setting.) IMHO, it feels better than stock SE setup. (may be I'm more tolerent than others) But, I think now my car takes on bumps and potholes firmer, yet more controlled. Body rol has been pretty much elliminated (I only have FSTB). Bumps and potholes just feel bit more "firmer". I'm going to keep this setting for about 2 weeks or so and then dial in 3 in the rear to see how it feels.

I recommend either my setup or Tom's setup to anyone. As he said, I think this is what "stock SE" suspension should have been from the factory. Overall impression?

Im gonna pair them up with stock SE springs for now...I bought the illuminas from ebay (good price iMO) and now i dont have money for H&Rs.. so i cant wait to get them and put em in...what setting should i start with?? i want a soft ride but not bouncy..thanks
