They are pretty torquey and it will be close up to around 60-70. After that you should pull away. I have a 5 speed and that was my experience. On the hwy I pulled strongly away from the 300, especially over 110!

B Careful.........

Well.........be a little careful because I raced one when all I had was a JWT intake. From a dead stop it's pretty even......The max acually pulls ahead slightly but once the VQ goes into 3rd gear all you'll see is the 300M logo cuz he will pull HARD after your car shifts....A q/mile you'll win by ~ 1 car meaning his front bumper will be at your tail end, but anything after that and he'll hand you your a**. It's gotta be the 5speed auto. Good Luck.........get a y-pipe(if you don't have one alrady) and you'll beat em....

I raced one in my 96 GLE auto.My car was stock except for K&N filter and perf. spark plugs that were brand new. I had a passenger and raced this old guy. From the start I smoked him then he started to pull up around 40, then I had him all the way to about 80 where he let off. I thought he would've easily taken me but I was wrong. He was probably about 1 car length behind.

You will be even. Both cars do 0-60 in about 8 seconds.

If you look at the various test results from those auto mags, you will find that the 300M is actually a lil bit faster than an auto max.

but then, I have yet to see someone who would race his/her 300M. The car is for another complete demographic than that for the Max.
