Rubbing noise coming from rear brake?

When I take off I hear this 'rubbing' noise coming from the rear on the driver's side. The noise is not constant, only when I take off. I checked the brakes and they have about 25% pad left on them. I asked a Nissan mechanic about it, he said it may be my brake caliper. Any other suggestions?! HELP?!

Take the brake apart, make sure the caliper piston moves freely. Check that the guid pins are movng freely as well. Lube up the pad guides, reassemble and see if your noise has gone away.

25% on both sides? because i found that the rear brake doesn't wear evenly.. i had the dreaded "rear brake groan" and my pass side had about 60% pad.. the driver side had about 10% ..

i was also getting this groan during the winter when my rear caliper was freezing and even though i put the e-brake down.. it was still locked up..

my only other option was to park in gear for the whole winter.. one morning i forgot and it just happend to snow that morning talk about going down a hill and doing a 180 degree turn.. started heading back up the hill and went the other direction

i had this problem as well - had to replace the caliper... i think it was sticking due to the fact that i almost never use the hand brake... the caliper was a mess.
