Cleaned the throttle body..now I have problems..please help!!

I cleaned the throttle body of my 95 Maxima. It was caked in there. My check engine light is now on and gives me codes 0302- EGR malfunction, 0304-Knock sensor 0205- IACV/AAV. Do you think all of those things have gone bad now. It wants to idle funny, it surges back and forth while I am driving when I let off the gas around 2000rpm and at times, after I start it up it idles at almost 1500 rpm. Any help out there?

Clean it again, use plenty of cleaner. After you've done that, try to spray down into it while the engine is running. Just pull back the accordian piece to give yourself a crack to spray into. Start the car and blip the throttle while you spray into the crack.

There are a few small vacuum orifices(sp?) in the TB. If to much crud was washed down into them, they can no longer see any vacuum from your car. Thats why your now throwing codes. The EGR system runs off of one of those small vacuum ports in your TB. You can also take off the vacuum hoses around the TB and spray back into the TB through them. That may dislodge any contamination in there.

Thanks NJMax, I wondered if some of those particles might have gotten trapped in there. Going to get my 3rd can of cleaner now!

1. check the vacuums hoses(important dude)
2. Check if the EGR has some dirty inside you can clened too...just the hoses..and the steel section.
3. The knock sensor sometimes is a ghost code...but you can check the KS Volttage just in case.
4. check the MAF...you can cleaned too.

I've been having the same problems.. My EGR code keep tripping. I cleaned it out. I never thought about some grit being stuck in the throttle body. That'll probably be my weekend project now.

Would you guys recommend removing it to get a good clean or just spray the cleaner while the car is running?
