Cold air intake
Cold air intake
I was reading some threads and found someone saying when they installed their cold air intake that they got less gas mileage. Some people that I have spoken to said that the cold air intake pretty much are for heavy sound from your engine and you dont really get more power. I just wanted to find the what are the benefits for install the cold air? shed some light on me
you get around 5 horsepower max... You won't really notice a difference in power, but basically your engine will be able to breathe better. The intakes also work better and in conjunction with an aftermarket "y" pipe (which will give you even more horses for the money), but I'd say the intake's sound alone is worth the money, and you'll notice that once you go past 3500 RPM WOT. Although I'm not sure about less gas mileage I haven't noticed that.
The most popular CAI are the injen and the frankencar from what I've seen. I have an injen, and I'm quite pleased with it, and so is everyone that I've talked to. Plus, with installation you don't have to drill any holes. www.adventon.com has the injens for the best price; around $210. (The picture on the adventon site is not the actual picture of the injen, you can find the actual picture at the Injen site)

there has always been on going debates between the cai and the regular pop charger type intakes.
I used to have a cai and had no problems, i never dynoed it to see if there were any gains. But gas mileage probably did go down cause my foot was always to the floor so I could hear the awesome sound
on this maxima im just gonna go with a hybrid intake setup, alot easier to install and keep clean. also cheaper
