A screwdriver.
The ECU is located behind the center console on the drivers side (right next to the gas peddle) Remove the plastic trim panel and peel back the piece of tape covering the screw on the side of the ECU. With the ignition in the "ON" position, turn the screw all the way clockwise, wait 5 seconds, turn the screw all the way counterclockwise and the check engine light will flash out the codes. The first number is indicated by long flashes, there will be a 2 second pause and the second number will be flashed out in shorter flashes. Example 3 long flashes, pause, 4 short flashes = 0304 (knock sensor fault). If there are two or more codes in the ECU, they will be flashed out in sequence, then the whole series will repeat. Remember: 1 number long flashes, second number: short flashes.
