ACC Trouble

I have a 95 GLE, and recently the ACC started acting up. It happens only when it gets really hot, for instance if I stop after sustained high-speed driving on the highway and let it sit for a few, then start again. That's the only time it does it. It has to be really hot, because I haven't had it happen in city traffic yet (in AZ).

What it does:

I'll notice that it is starting to get warm in the cabin, so I drop the temp a few degrees, and the fan will spin up but very little air comes out of the vents. I can turn the fan all the way up manually, but the air coming from the vents is blowing less than it does normally on the lowest setting. When I turn the fan up, I can hear it speed up, from behind the dash on the passenger side it sounds like it's blowing real hard, but very little air is coming out. The A/C is working fine, as the air is real cold. I don't know how this ACC system works, but it seems to me like the system is getting stuck somewhere between modes (ie dash vents, foot vents), because it's going full tilt, but not coming out anywhere. One last thing, I have found that if I set it on the mode with the defroster and foot well vents on and turn the fan up to full for a few minutes, then hit the AUTO button, it will switch back to dash vents and be working properly, blowing normally.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

My ACC is completely messed up. It worked great last summer when I got the car, it'd be freezing in the car within minutes. Now, it's just warm air getting through. I think we both need to recharge it...

Sounds like your A/C is messed up, and a recharge might help, but my A/C works fine, there is just a problem with the delivery of the air to the cabin.

The motor that controls your air direction doors might be bad or one of the doors may have come disconnected from the motor. It could also be the control module itself not giving the correct signal to open the right doors to allow air to flow through the correct vents.
