Midas brakes
I heard that midas has lifetime warranty on their brake pads. Has anyone had their brakes put in? If so, does it dust a lot and does it make any noise? Approximately how much did you get charged?

NONO i wouldnt go there.
If you dont get Raybestos QS there gonna squeak.k
It takes about 15 mins to do with the wheels off and the pads will cost about 50.00 but quality DOES count.
Every thing else will squeak, they'll charge you 80.00-90.00 for the quality pads thats wont squeak.

Actually Midas is getting affiliated with Autozone, and theyre supposed to be supplying midas with the majority of their parts. So Midas's lifetime brakes are most likely the albany brand you would buy at autozone.

Midas brakes are terrible. I had them on my '95 once and they squealed horribly. I even went thru about three brands they offered. All of them did the same. I then said forget it. I then installed Nissan key value pads which gave a blessing to my ears--NO NOISE!

Midas has their own brakes. They do buy parts from dealers though, but that's rare. They also buy from other outside sources. Every shop in the auto business does. Midas is not in any way affiliated with AutoZone. That being said, I wouldn't go there for brakes. They DO overcharge. The quality of the pads are just good enough so that you are satisfied with the lifetime warranty, but get angry that you have to pay labor each time they are changed. Which is quite often. I know all of this because I just quit Midas. I used to manage 9 Midas stores. Now I'm a manager at Advance Auto Parts, who also sells products to Midas.

I'd steer clear of anyone who uses Nissan brake parts. Their rotors suck!

Back in April Autozone and Midas entered into a joint venture parts distribution agreement, where Midas is closing there distibution centers and Autozone will distribute their parts to Midas's shops. That sounds like theyre affiliated with each other to me

im like a complete moron, i cant really tell if my brakes are low, im always left with, what am i looking at? My uncle said that my brake pads are really good, but everytime i apply pressure to the pedal, it squeals like you're pulling a lil piggy's tail. I tried using brakleen on them, but ir really doesnt work. When it rains hard, or when i drive through a big puddle and the brakes get wet, it doesnt screech as much, Also, how easy is it to replace the pads, and how much time would it take? Thanks for all the info, i wont get the pads from midas.

I agree to not goto Midas. . . I put them on my car a fews years back, and my OEM pads with 10% left stopped the car a lot better than these pads. I still have them on my car, they will come off next week when my 300ZX Calipers and Poterfield Pads go on, and they are very loud and my rims show significant dust on them 2 days after being washed.
Also, they do overcharge. . . For the price it cost me to get a brake job done last time at Midas (keep in mind the pads only cost me somewhere in the range of $40), I got 4 Brembo blank rotors, SS lines, 2 300ZX Reman. Calipers, and Pads for all 4 wheels. Since I am getting help with free install, I am spending about the same for a much better set-up.
