you can check the gasket or around the plug in next to your oil filter. forget what it's called. can't you look under the car and see where the leak is coming from?

what if it's the gasket near the timing chain near the power steering? is this a costly to fix?

I just had to have the timing cover gaskets replaced due to an oil leak; VERY time consuming and expensive.

Approximately 15 hours of labor becuase everything in the front of the engine compartment (passenger side of the car) needs to be disassembled. Parts were about $30 because there are actually several seals needed. Total job (unfortunately at Nissan dealer) was almost $1400. Sucks.

Yeah, I had that same problem with my max. Except at first they thought it was the upper oil pan gasket, so they replaced that. My car still leaked oil, so they decided it was the timing cover gaskets. It is a very time consuming job, and expensive unless you find a mechanic that doesn't know how much work it really is. (I found some guy from a chevy dealer to do it on the side for $250, He got screwed )

Good Luck
