Weight diff 95 / 96 / 97

Anybody have a sales guide handy for 1995 or 1996 with vehicle curb weights? I know the 95's and 96's are the lighest but by how much?

1997 5sp GXE 3012
1997 5sp SE 3014
1997 auto GXE 3069
1997 auto SE 3072
1997 auto GLE 3085

(oh and the nissannews site stops going back at '97 too)

Thanks

It's really almost nothing. There was some bumper/trunk reinforcement and I think it was like 7-14 lbs of total weight added. It's NOTHING like the "100 lb" that some other people quote.

Yep, the difference is just a few pounds. For some reason, people think the larger 97+ bumper reinforcements weigh an extra 50-100lbs. Try 5lb front and rear.

I think the 97+ are marginally slower because of their heavier 16s and the nasty 6" pipe that sits between the y-pipe and cat that isn't on the 95-96.

There is 419 lbs difference between my 97 SE loaded and my 95 SE in race trim.

However even stock my 97SE only ran 16.1 stock and my 95 GXE ran 15.3 with exactly the same engine because I took the engine and trans from the SE and installed it in the GXE.

The best I got the SE to after mods was 15.4 and the GXE I now have runnng 14.6. Why?? Gotta be the weight.

Thanks for the feedback. I just ran across this which is kinda what I was getting at.

Specs from a 1996:
GLE 2982lb (extra weight items include the moonroof, climate control, automatic, dual power seats, BOSE, heavier wheels)
GXE 2886lb (bare bones 5 speed)
SE 2895lb (bare bones 5 speed)
http://www.maxdes.net/

So my moonroof, power drivers seat, power windows & locks, wheels, and minor differences from 96->97 come to over 100lbs.

wtf? 16s in a maxima? Was that auto? My 93 Altima gxe 5sp ran 16.3 officially, and 16.1 unofficially. My 97 GXE 5sp feels a ton faster and I haven't lost to a stock Altima on the road yet. Both Max and Altima are stock with full interior, full gas.

is there a post that people can put in ways to reduce weight. im constantly trying to pull this out and that off ..still trying to keep a nice look.

i have a 97 se loaded with all extras, so the car is heavy im thinking.. my upcoming projects are racing seats, dynobat battery, carbon fiber hood.
