Minor Dents/Dings

I will be respraying my car soon. I noticed there are some minor dents and dings that are not noticible unless you look at an angle, I'm talking about small. Since I will be respraying, I want to make everything look perfect, so should I strip the paint in the area, and bondo the dents/dings? I have worked on body damage before, but never this small, I'm just very picky and wondering if its worth taking the time to fix it.

Don't bondo. If you can get to the inside of the panel, rub it out with the back of a spoon.

What I never heard of that? I was under the assumption that any dent would stretch the panel and you wouldnt be able to restore to the original shape?

This is how "Dent Wizard" and others remove dents w/o using bondo, just with more sophisticated tools. The art is in the rubbing...

Find a paintless dent removal person. They will be able to get most, if not all, of those out for you. If their small, they can do it very easily. The only trouble is if it's in a hard to reach spot. They can do quite a few dents in a short amount of time. One guy can do 2-3 hail damaged cars in a day depending on how bad they are. A friend of mine has been doing it for years and I'm amazed at what he can do paintlessly.

These guys are expensive, and if he's going to repaint the car, why go to folks who specialize in keeping your paint whole while removing the dents?

I've got 4-5 small (but annoying) dents in the driver's side of my Z, but the problem is that they are spread across 3 different panels (front, door, rear) and they charge a base price to go into each panel and an additional fee for each dent within a common panel. So, to take out my 5 dents would cost $500!

You have to call around a little. Find a person who has their own business doing it. They will be a lot less than the chains like Dent Busters or Dent Wizard. Ask at some local dealers if they use someone other than the chains. They may be able to suggest a reasonable person.
