Radiator Support Removal/Installation

What is involved in removing and installing the radiator support. I have a bad crack next to the centermember that threatens the engine and I have access to one for about 100 new. Is there any welding involved with putting in a new one or is it just bolts? Thanks

As far as I know it's a lot of welding. mine had to be replaced when i hit a deer about a year ago and if i remember right, it had to be welded in. I could be wrong though. i had a lot to look at with that $8000 worth of damage!

if you're referring to the lower radiator support...it would definately have to be welded on. The radiator is easy to remove. Remove the two 10mm buts up top and disconnect the cooling lines and the wiring harness and pull up. Presto..done deal

i think i might have the same problem! after washing my car and wiping underneath, i noticed the centermember was cracked from its frame and i don't know if this is something i can ride on for a while... should i be concerned about this and take action immediately, or can i drive with this for a while until i can rack up some money to have this replace and fixed?! so far my car is running stellar and i'm not having any problems, but, what kind of estimate am i looking at if i get this fixed?! thanks for your feedback. life-long max owner

Ok, I took some pics...quite large, the first one is really good. I was told it's the radiator support. Bad eh?
