Autos can pack heat too!

I had to post this. This kid that goes to my school has a riced-out 5 speed Mitsubishi Eclipse, and says that he can easily take my 98 Max Auto. He has talked **** about maximas for a long time, and I finally had enough. We lined up at a stoplight on a quiet street. I put the tranny into 1, and held the throttle at 1800 RPMs. I had a perfect launch, and smoked him! I shut it down at about 80 MPH, by then I had about 3-5 carlengths on him. After the race, he told me that he had a base '93 Eclipse, and claimed that he could run low 14s . I know this kid can't drive stick, so maybe it would've been closer with a good driver. I looked up the stats on an Eclipse, and they run mid to high 15s in the 1/4 mile, which is comparible to an auto Max. I thought it was a pretty good kill, and I'm glad that I shut his ricer mouth up.

I raced a really nice guy in a Eclipse GSX 5-spd. I jumped him a little but it still took him a good 5-8 seconds to pull along side and pass me. Eclipses aren't as fast as he thinks they are, especially base models, paaaalease. And I use to own a '91 base Eclipse 5-Spd and trust me that thing was a PILE OF ****! I could have gotten out and ran by it.
