A4 2.8 5spd vs. me (97 auto I,Y)
To make a long story short, after a bit of playing around, we lined up at a stoplight, with me at his rear door in the right lane (he stopped after the white line) we both knew it was on. Light changed and he got a pretty nice jump instantly, (thanks quattro) to where he was about 1.5 car lengths in front of me and held the lead until about 80 where he tapped his brake and we both let off. Really good race but I wish there was a better straightaway, I really think I would have pulled ahead due to his AWD drivetrain loss. I'm a bit curious, I couldn't find any real life numbers, but did I do well against him or should I have won? He seemed like a pretty good driver because when he shifted it was very crisp and I didnt manage to gain at all on him. Not to make excuses but I honestly had a bad launch, no tire spin, but I forgot to brake torque and I rolled forward for a second while the light was changing.

Audi quotes 0-60 in 7.3s and 1/4 mile in 15.5.

...and those numbers that they quote (for all models) are pretty realistic for the most part. So yes, you did pretty well. Assuming he would have run a 15.5, and you held him to 1.5 cars, that would have been about a 15.7-15.8 for yourself. That is one big ASSumption though, so take it for what it's worth.
