So i think yall know by now that i've had my max for close to a month now. Anyways, its 11:00 PM saturday night (tonight) and i decide to go for a drive with max and get some fresh air ( u know, the excuses u make up just to go for a drive).

So i'm crusin at 40 mph down a 3 lane street while having the front windows down and enjoying my bose system at its loudest. I approach a light and it turns red so i stop. then i notice the car to the left of me rolls its passenger window down and the passenger looks at me a coupla times. they are riding in a new generation silver Celica which looks stock. anyways, so i stop the cd player to see if the passenger has somethin to say. i look at him and i see that him and the driver are both the kinda boys who like to PLAY just by looking at them. next thing i know is that the driver starts REVING the engine hard ( honestly i felt like throwing up after hearing that stupid engine). so i know that he wants a run. now since he kinda let me know that he wanted a run by reving at me, i decide to accept it kinda the same way, so i let go off brake and the car rolls forward and then i put it in REVERSE and stop in the same line as him and then laugh and shake my head at passenger for being so stupid and wanting to race a maxima ( couldnt see driver).
so driver reves a few more times and i just sit there and wait till light goes green so that i can unleash all my 190 ponnies and show him who the daddy is. so finally the light goes green and i floor it, in mean time i hear him do a little burnout at take off so i kinda realzied that he got manual tranny. so i decide to floor mine a bit more since he is manual and im automatic. but anyways, i easily gained on him after 2-3 seconds and heard him chaning gears and blah blah trying to catch up but he was already over 1-2 cars behind. so as soon as i hit 50 mph, its time to stop cuz another red light is coming up. i stop at light and the dude pulls up next to me and the driver goes : " u lucky im running stock", at this moment i tell myself that this dude is completly INSANE. so i asnwer him " also im lucky u got a passenger, huh?" and then he goes, nah man u got mods. then i laugh at his sorry *** for being a jack *** and tell him " dude u got beat by an auotmatic tranny with STOCK engine. wtf makes u think u can beat a maxima, idiot?". now i hate even being next to him so without listentin to any of his crap, i look to the right and see cars parked next to me in the 1st lane, so i flash my turn signal and turn into the street to get away from that stupid idiot and call it a nigh with happy ending. i wanted to him for being so stupid and thinkin he had a chance. if he was a GT-S, thatd be another story. but im really glad that i can smoke some cars afer all. ( yea my previous car which was 94 altima could barely smokea HYUNDAI)

Nice but come a Celica.... that's a give me but good job showing him us "family sedans" don't play around.

yeah celica owners tend to be cocky, i smoked one when i was bone-stock.

 

Celica GT: 140hp, 120tq. They are pathetically slow, and you should be ashamed that you even wasted your gas on him.

 

Maximas are under rated by most people. Your average ricer who got a celica from his parents doesnt know the bland looking 1995 Beige Maxima GXE with 15 inch hubcaps can blow the doors off him.

 

yeah, ive had a few ricers come up to me with their 125 hp monsters (not to mention 50 or so lb ft of torque), and say, ive got intake, and exhaust on my car, my car has to be faster since yours only has an intake

 

I raced escorts and tahoes in the past, we should not hesitate to race anyone, thats how the word gets around on the street and people notice maximas.

 

YEA SERIOUSLY DUDE. my gas gauge was on FULL and now its in between full and 3/4 FULL. gd whenever i floor my maxima, i immediatly see the gas gauge go down. that never happend to my altima cuz it had a cheap 4 cylender. do the rest of u easily notice the gas gauge go down right after u floor it 2-3 times?

i filled up the tank few days ago and have traveled 63.5 miles since then and the gas gauge is already on its way to hit 3/4 . that sux lol

people with celica's tend to be cocky cause their cars are meant for racing i guess...sports coupe's...i like the way they look but they sound so weak

 

A GT-S wouldve been a different story. It would still be owned by a stock 5sp max though, but they put up and good fight, esp on high end...

I don't know a the celicas weigh about 2500lbs, the hp is 10 less. Then again I'm guessing low torque and a ****ty powerband...

 

Heh, I did something simillar the other week. Some boy racer (thats what they're called here) pulled up beside me in his flashed out Mitsubishi EVO at a stop sign, lights turned green and he put his foot down. Got to the next lights and the competitive streak in me came out, when the lights went green I put my foot down, and ended up a car length or two ahead of him Would love to have seen his face, especially since my Max is completley stock

 

yeah, but then the more maximas out there the more played out it becomes.

then the insurance companies find out that maximas are getting more tuned and inclined to racing and our rates go sky-high

i'd rather have maximas be more subtle..
