*Gauging Interest* New Sideskirt option - look inside

Well I am undergoing a lot of man hours and money to get these sideskirts to fit my car and my body guy said that he could make a mold of these and I could sell them as an option for maxima owners.

These sideskirts are made for an E46 BMW and made by Hamann but they will be completely bolt-on for any year 4th gen. They will be made of fiberglass and will have a gel coat ready for primer and paint. These will not be done overseas with cheap fiberglass, these will be done in the states by an experienced body shop.

Just as a size comparison in numbers:

FINISHED PICTURES:

[b]As far as pricing goes: the stillen sideskirts from stillen's site are $300.00 for the pair without shipping. I am hoping to keep the price around the same area, as of right now it looks like they would run about $300.00-$350.00 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

Please leave feedback, interest, questions, concerns and etc.

As of right now we do not have a sideskirt bigger than 4" in height, yet all of our bumpers sit lower than the 4" can accomodate, these will ensure a smooth line from front bumper to sideskirt and possibly to the rear depending on your suspension setup. I can have these made to be higher in the front, or higher in the back, or just simply a little bit higher all around... but right now I just want to see if it is worth my time and money to make a mold.

A word of advice to those of you who are offering new maxima products (cattman):

THIS is how you introduce the product. With PICTURES.

And the skyline, and the sarona. My body guy said that he could do vents and could do slits to match the style of any bumper.

The one I am holding up is still setup for a BMW, but give it until monday the ends will be shortened and remade, the lip will be redone and everything will be ready just like all the other skirts for maximas.

Do you always evaluate dudes' looks when you see them? Hmmm...

there is a possibility, but if you think about it, how often do you ever crack a sideskirt or even hit the sideskirt on a maxima?

i do realize these will be lower, but the majority of drivers out there dont sit low enough to really worry about damaging these.. a good rule of thumb is if your front hits, back up and try again because your sides and rear will hit.

I will ask about urethane, it may up the costs slightly.

I would be interested... the Ionic sides are a little too edgy for the max's round shape, but the Stillen sides are pretty much worthless.

If you know people that scratch stillen sideskirts, they have talent, because not ONCE have I ever scratched mine, even with them sitting 2 inches off the ground a couple of days ago.

You just need to drive responsibly.

And these would definitely hit the underbody lights from the side.

Just as an update..

Talked to the body guy and he said these skirts will come warranteed and will be primered and ready for paint.

Urethane is not an option right now, but can be addressed later if these sell well enough.

We also chatted for awhile on a new rear skirt add-on that will add a clean accent to these skirts

By mid-late next week, and production will take 3 days on each set of skirts.

New rear section, should be interesting, going to use something from a euro/dtm style and adapt it, we shall see.

They look pretty good. How about doing some minor work to them to try and make them a little smoother. Not so straight and boxy. How about somthing like this....

My photoshop skills are really bad. Just somthing to try and get an idea.

I'd be interested in those and would like to see the rear valance as well. Are you going to name the kit?

No offense, but those look exactly like the ionic sides but with a hole cut out of them. Our cars are round, not straight edges and angled, those skirts just look like real hard edges. But like I said, we can have cutouts made or certain things adjusted when people order the skirts, but it's hard to offer like 10 different types. Thanks for taking the time to make another image though..

Not sure about naming it yet, I think I just may, but I don't know yet... The rear valence will get worked on if these are a success.

Those looks great, after seeing your car from the other thread, I had second thoughts about the M3 bumper because it sat so low compared to the Stillen skirts and rears. Thanx to this, I am definitely leaning toward getting the M3 bumper. Now if you could just get some rears to match the skirts and the bumoer, that would be even better.

I will be working on a full valence that will cover most of the rear bumper, but won't just look like a piece of urethane/glass just slapped on there. We will see..

Hopefully I will have an update today after I pick up my car on the skirts.

They are plain for you, not us. Then again I don't have an Escalade grill on my car, and I don't have chrome wheels. But that's your style so I guess I shouldn't bash you...

Do you ffel the need to rip on everyone in your posts? Last time I said something, you claimed that you were "getting down the the kids level" so that they could understand you. What's your excuse this time?

99maxx-on19's may want somehting that matches what he's doen to his car. You may want something more simple, great. No reason to start bashing what others have doen to THEIR car.

Sorry to jack the thread, back on topic... I would love to see them after their installed. Seeing as it looks like I'll be keeping the Max for a while, I would be interested in them. I like the simple look myself.
