The following things need to be done to my 95 SE (100K). In what order should I have them done? Thanks!

a. Left rear strut is leaking
b. front rotors need to be replaced.
c. rear O2 sensor needs to be looked at.

Also, any ideas about what these jobs should cost AND whether a relatively handy guy like me could do any or all myself.

Again, thanks

Get the first two done first, as they are safety related.

To replace a front strut, cost will probably be around $150. $100 for the front strut, $50 for labor. Dealer will probably charge more than that though.

Front rotor, I dunno the price, but I would guess under $150 total to replace it. O2 sensor is around $70, again I don't know the labor price for that.

All three repairs could be done by the home mechanic. If you do the work yourself the cost is only the parts cost. I like to use PartsAmerica.com as a parts cost reference. You can look up the prices as easily as I, so go to it!

I would do the rotors first because the job is easy and brakes are vital to safe vehicle operation.

Don't condemn a strut only because of leakage. If it passes the bumper-bounce test it is still good.

I own a 96 Maxima GXE with about 75 K miles on it. The rear strut is leaking oil. two questions for you 1) is it recommended I change out both the rear struts, I plan on keeping the car for a while, and 2) you mention I shouldn't write off the strut because it's leaking, maybe so, but won't it eventually lose its peformance handling capabilites as most of the oil seeps out.
