I need to know this, to make sure my 35% is legal. cause if its already tinted, it would be darker then 35!

the only factory tint I know of is that my dark green max came with a slight bronze/tan tint. This was slight , only for that tan look. I dont think maximas came with regular tint. But as for legal thing, the cops have to see in the front passenger window. The have to see details in side of the car, if they cant its not legal. Thats how its in NJ, hope that helps

 

In CA, I believe most of the SEs and GLEs come factory tinted with a slight amount of tint (about 88-90% transparent) Most of the GXEs I've seen had no tint at all.

 

You may have to go right to Nissan with this question. There is tint on the window even though it may not look like it. I think if you put 35% on factory windows, then you are really over 35%.

 

If your worried about making the tint 35%, YOu can go to your local DMV and have them check the tint (if any) before you go. Therefore you know how much tint is already on there. Usually it is about 2%-3% but you never know.

 

One of my boyz has his own tinting biz. He tints for RBM of Atlanta (Mercedes Benz) and Classic Cadillacs of Atlanta. He has stated that all cars come with about 5% already on the window. Maybe not the ridez that cost less than $15,000.00, but most other ridez do. Obiviously, SUVs come with 20% all around except for the windshield and front windows.
