questions about flip-top trunk
questions about flip-top trunk
so i was thinking about doing this mod but i have a couple of questions first....1. if i wanted to sell the car later can i easily return the trunk to normal? and 2. will my trunk pop on my stock alarm still pop the trunk?
thanks kids.

I would think that your trunk pop would still work. It still has the same latching and everything it just folds up differrently. AS far as returning it back i am not sure but from the pics i've seen i bet it could be fairly easily
Yes, it can go back very simply. All your doing is putting a hinge at the end of the arm and taking out the four bolts that hold it on the way it is now. You may also want to throw one in at times when you don't want it to flip. When you want to sell it just put the four bolts back in. You don't even have to remove the hinge. Nobody will even know you did it. Unless you sell it to someone who's into cars, like the people on this board. And they would be glad they had the option installed for them.

I know that i would personally do the following though, go to Lowes, Home Depot, or some Large Hardware store, and get a large threaded rod. You then run this thru the hinge/end of arms and bolt down. This will allow the arms to operate parallel to each other without having the play and swaying they have without it.
Also, at high speeds, do you ever find the back of the trunk (back windshield side) lifting up?
This would almost be one of those "Keep the bolts and the wrench in the trunk at all times" deal. This way you can just unbolt it for car shows.
