Hey Guys,

I just installed my aluminum dash kit (unfortunately it turned out to be a fake one, bought it from ebay) and Aluminum bezel (procarparts.com) and Chrome gauge rings (paradox Systems). I was wondering what you guys think about a 3" neon tube or even EL string on the floor of the gauge cluster. I think that it would accentuate the aluminum and chrome. I've been think about this for a while and wanted to see what the org thinks. I have a 98 and do not want to mess with the indiglow since there is no actual direct fit for 98 Se's. Thanks for all the opinions in advance. I know I will get, "Rice!!!" But look at my site, i'm already rice

Haha Glad you guys are giving me the go ahead! Do you think a 3" tube will be good enough? I was thinking of maybe constructing some kind of mirror box to focus the lighting so that I do not get a large amount of glare. I think 3" will be bright enough to light up the cluster but not blind me. Thanks for the thoughts guys

 

I think the EL string will be much better. I think the Neon tube will be tight in there and maybe hard to mount. You will also be able to mount everywhere inside the cluster and you can avoid shadows that can be caused by the neon and other internal components just my .2 cents

 

I was thinking about EL string too. Do you guys know where I can get some. I know Advance auto parts have them but I don't know if I can clip it to the right size or not. What you think? I'm gonna get neo blue to match the rest of my front neons. With the EL string, do I just trim it to size? Let me know please. I will do this mod tomorrow.

 

Ok Guys here are the pics. I bought 5' Blue El string neons and wired them into my gauge cluster. Below is the pics. Looks nice. I didn't over do it.

i like it, now to figure out a way to make the numbers a different color. maybe red, and then it will look hot.

 

Red ey? I was contiplating that.... what do you guys think? Red numbers? I think it will look too much like a pontiac with red numbers...

 

those looks like stock gauges. i think it'll look even better if you get those indiglow gauges that glows blue at night. the stock gauge's "yellow" light is kinda messing it up a bit.

but i have to say it's a good thought, i give you props for new rice idea
