Cleaning

How would I got about cleaning my O2 sensors? I heard that if you take them out and put a torch to the end of them for a few seconds is supposed to restore the sensor to somewhat new condition. I was told not to use a wire brush at all. Any ideas, tips, suggestions?

I know replacing them would be best, but I am asking on how to clean them.
