My autotragic chirps in 2nd gear :)
Just picked up my car yesterday, it was in for a tranny rebuild.
I feel like it has more power and I don't know if this is good or bad but it changes gears from 1st to 2nd really fast (a split second) and it changes it pretty hard. It is so hard that the wheels spin in second gear. . . I kinda like this and I think it'll be better for the track because of the quick shifting, but will it mess up my tranny again??? I don't know if I should go back and have them fix this.

AUTOTRAGIC?
Dont u mean AUTOMAGIC?
Are you one of those fellas that desires a manual but bought an auto?
Heres my 2 cents. I just got my auto tranny flushed @57k miles. My trans (before the flush) felt like it shifted sorta hard (no chirp) but sorta on the hard side. Now that its flushed it seems to glide into gear. Like a slight slip then engaged. I didnt like it at first but after driving for the past 2 days ive noticed improvements that outweigh that issue.

i just got back home. . . cruised around with some friends and they can't believe that it rips so hard into second, how fast it switches gears, and how it chirps. . . i could get used to it. . . but at normal driving it's really annoying. . . anyways i'm going to englishtown on saturday to see how it does on 1/4 mile and i'm dropping it off on monday to get this fixed. . . then i'll see the difference between my times. . .

Sounds like you got a valve body upgrade to me. What did you have done exactly? I mean when they asked you what you wanted done did you mentioned that you might race a little every now and then {at the track} or what? I also have an auto trans and want a VB upgrade also torque converter upgrade and the limited slip conversion
with a Phantom Grip. I understand however that
all you discribed is normal with a VB upgrade, unless that's not what you had done.

nope. . .didn't have the vb upgrade. . . i think that they just did something wrong or it's getting too much pressure or something. . . i'll see what the problem is on monday. . . but it's annoying to have it jump like that everytime i'm cruising with normal driving. . .

Resistor being unplugged would trigger a CEL. Chirping second in an un-vb'd auto is unheard of, I don't think there's ever been anyone on the .org that had a "stock" auto that would do that. They either built the transmission stronger and better than it's suppose to be, or you're going to be visiting them real soon

well...thats not good to me, first dont wot your car after some 1000 miles on the tranny, cause the tranny parts(new ones) will go bad. If you really want to keep your tranny in good cond. Buy a tranny cooler for it. Be sure about the calibrate of the band and your Valve Body too. Nissan has a lot of info about that.

I agree on the need for transmission fluid change and filter replacement. I did it when I got my car.
It is essential to do these in order to lengthen the happy natural days of automatic transmission. When's the last time you checked tranny fluid? Do you remember the color?
