well i got this kid in one of my classes he keeps mouthing off to this one kid about his v6 mustang now it's been going on for a week...so i decided to tell him whats right and ask him what kinda car hes got now granted hes a sophmore and can't even drive hes got the biggest mouth i've ever heard...he claims his 99 civic si is faster then most cars and i keep trying to explain to him that is a fuel economy car and nothing more now maybe if he changed the engine or something that would be different but he just claims it's really fast...i looked up some info on the civic and it's got 160 hp and 111 tq now what is that ****...aight so i need some ammo for 2morrow cause he keeps making fun of my family sedan...so he won't tell me what kinda mods hes got but i plan on telling him that he doesn't hav 30 hp worth of mods to even get up 2 my hp any help on civic performance parts would be helpfull thanks!!

civic performance parts? well standard stuff like intake, exhaust, they benefit a lot from long headers that gets rid of their first one or two cats (depending on the make and such) I didnt read incredibly close, but is he an auto or 5 speed? manual is obviously gonna be a little bit quicker, but its still a civic he could have a turbo or even a super, but since hes a sophmore who cant drive according to you... unlikely he has any big power makers

 

aight i don't know if he can drive or not i should say hes never driven before don't even have his permit...my guess is a 5 speed or he'd be a total loser i don't know if the si's come with autos but anyway yeah i told him unless hes boosted or got nos theres no way hes touching the v6 mustang or my hmmm family sedan

yeah i was looking online theres so many ifs and ands for civic "performance" parts like the cold air intake is up to 15 hp it's 1 hp for every ten degrees and unless you throw ice in the intake ur not going to get close to 150 degrees

 

i know headers do wonders for hondas. on edmunds it says a V6 4dr 98 accord with 200hp does 0-60 in 7.8secs. and a civic si with 160hp does 0-60 in 7.2secs. so its not always about hp. plus, his car weights 10 times less than yours. i still think you'll kill him but you shouldnt always be so confident when racing a honda. i actually lost to that 98 accord

 

he doesn't even have a permit so it's a little hard for him 2 go anywhere...he just talkes to much and i want to shut him up

 

accord is totally different hes got i think close to 27 hundred pounds thats still heavy i mean where does he think hes going with 111 tq? 160hp what a joke the only honda i would be afraid of his the prelude cruised with my friend on the highway and he had me after 110

I agree...but i do recall a while ago on this forum there was a link to another forum(i think it was a corvette forum) about a SI that killed a C5. It was a sad post cause the driver of the corvette didnt know how to drive. Felt bad for him...honestly i did

well if you put in a built block racing I4, with some high boost, reinforced tranny, clutch cold air intake etc...its gonna be fast and very expensive, but not much of a honda... anything short of that, i dunno how he beat (and KILLED?!) a c5

any of you guys seen the video of the old nissan ZX with a twin turbo v8 in it? a bunch of big block cars with single or twin turbo are just insaaane. if you think boost is good on a I4 (or even a max's v6) think about it on some bigger cubic inches

 

Thats true, but like likely in this situation,. Not many kids in HS have the loot or the know how to accomplish such speed. Any car can be really fast.......just depends on how much money you want to spend. Bottomless pockets result in extremly fast cars.

my autmatic max tied up with a svt focus today and the focus was manual, also it has 170 hp and 145 toruqe and weights less than civic si. so if u got manual. im puttin money on this, stock vs stock, both manual, i bet u that u kill him by 2.5+ cars
