You guys might disagree but I think i'm parting out =(

Hello all, I havn't been in this community long but I think I've made up my mind. I'm about 90% sure I'm going through with this new plan. I'm planning on buying this 93 240sx for 1000$. There is a place in my town that does the sr20det engine swap with everything included on warrenty for about a little less than 4000$. I really want this car. I've been looking for more of a project and something to learn on. I'm able to go to the shop and watch the install and stuff so it should be a lot of fun.
I'm still gonna hang around, sorry I didn't get to know all of you guys!!

$4000 is kinda high for the parts and install. I doubt labor is $3k. How much are you gonna sell the max for???

what kind of condition is the 240 sx in, if its selling for 1 grand? I know engine and suspension probably doesn't matter, but what about tranny, interior, body, etc....

one grand is a pretty low asking price, even for a 92, it could not have an engine, benefiting his swap idea more... you get what u pay for

I imagine $4000 is just for the staight swap and nothing else. FYI, a sr on stock boost won't be any faster than a 5-speed max with a y-pipe. From my expierence nobody ever stays with stock boost. If your not mehanical enough to do your own work then any upgrade is going to cost a lot of $$$. An sr swap is fairly straight forward, but the thing is that there is always going to be little problems that can add up to a lot of money if your not doing it yourself. My brother is still working the kinks out of his sr swap on a 89 240, and he has been working on it every weekend for 3 months.

light and rear wheel, good for drifting, but its not really much faster than a 5 speed maxima. its all about what kind of car you want

Hey guys. Its 4000$ for everything. Motor, Tranny, ecu, shifter, SMIC. The install is included in the 4000$ price along with warrenty and a guarentee that every part will be there. I wanted to work on this car as a project but I belived that it would be to hard to do my own engine swap, but I plan to do the rest my self. And Its not like I'm dropping extra money off the bat. I'm not putting an extra 4k in my maxima. I'm selling my maxima and using that money to do the engine swap.

Sweet man, just let me know. Depending on things, I may be able to drive like half way and meet you somewhere to pick it up. Again, just let me know.
