SE gauges in a GXE?

i was wondering about the feasability of putting white faced gauges from an SE in a GXE. is that ok? and does anyone know about california law, how it would work with the odometer reading?

one more thing, i have never seen them at night. how do the gauges look at night? are they lit up with the same kind of light? or do they glow a different color or what? pix?

thank you.

Dont know about Cali laws, but I dont see why it would be a problem. Their stock gauges. I and a lot of others have swapped them. During the day,.....the white just looks sweet. At night they are not different colors but they do lilluminate different. Being white on black it looks good. i put colored leds to make them glow a different color. The needles look really good to me. Do a search, theirs many pics.

do the search for the leds. if u open up your cluster, you'll see about (6) 194 bulbs. as for the gauges, why would it be illegal?

you gonna put a whole new cluster in there or just the faces? i have the faces but you have to take off the needles and i'm afraid of breaking them. i actually messed up my rpm gauge cuz the needle moves all funny now, and it's not sticking to the gauge. i think i messed up its calibration (or whatever you call it). so i think i just need to buy a new cluster

CA laws make just about everything illegal, especially anything done to your car whatsoever. If its distraction from driving they might ticket you...but just for a set of guages? they wont

no i was talking about it the legality of it because of the fact that the mileage would be different from my cluster.

yeah i had that same problem with the needles being messed up on my jeep. never the same again. does anyone know of a way to install indiglo without the needles coming off? or a certain brand that allows for this and has a bigger hole or something?
