What is a caliper bracket?

Is what Autozone calls a caliper bracket the same thing as the torque member or does the torque member come with a reman caliper? I ask because I just need a torque member and noticed that Autozone sells something called a caliper bracket but it is a order only item.

Thanks.

Torque member = caliper bracket...

A remanufactered/rebuilt caliper usually does not come with the bracket.

Try the junkyard for the bracket... it's probably cheaper.

Why in the world do you need that part? What happened to the old bracket?

I hope so it's only 32.99 from them but now I'm wondering if the bracket is what the torque member bolts to?

You are sure that #1 is the caliper and #2 is the caliper bracket (torque member), if you look behind the rotor at the piece that the torque member attaches to, what is that called?

I had to p/u a bracket when I replaced the rotors cause I snapped one of the bolts and I was too lazy to tap it out. I do remember having to buy the whole caliper assembly though.

I need a new caliper bracket because one of the bolts in the old one is frozen, making for VERY uneven pad wear.....nice find...my dealer wanted 200 for an entire new caliper to get the bracket (aftermarket mind you)
