according to the hanyes manual if you did it with the light method 0510=downstream oxygen sensor maximum voltage montior fault
if you use the scan tool p0510= closed throttle position switch or circuit fault

I have a 99 SE, Calif spec emissions, and that code was the right rear O2 sensor (my car has 4 sensors). Replaced it, problem has not come back.. Sensor was about 70 bucks from Courtesy Nissan...

Slfalco,
I have the same code. Did you replace the sensor yourself? If you did, was it the rear sensor that plugs next to the rear of engine, or was it the sensor that plugs in the front of the engine by the 2 front o2 sensors plugs. I want to make sure I replace the correct sensor. Thanks for the help, the SES light has been on for months. Its diving me nuts.
