gforce vs jwt

i know there are many posts on this topic. i have been looking through most of them but none of them just came out and said which is better. the jwt or gforce. i know the main advantage of the jwt is a raised rev limiter and since i have an auto that will be very nice. i dont plan on getting a VI though. i have been looking around for the past month or so for a used jwt ecu but havent found one. i am just wondering is it worth the extra 100-200 to get the jwt or should i just buy the gforce??

if u r not getting MEVI, u dont need a raised rev limiter, as our stock manifolds choke off the horsepower around 6000 rpm. MEVI and raised limiter go hand in hand.

Technosquare (was G-force (was UPRD)) is supposed to give slightly higher gains than the JWT. I only saw peak +5hp/+10tq myself but I thought the Gforce was a good deal at the time.

bejay those numbers sure seem low ! im busting my tail to get this ecu to them today(technosquare) and 5hp doesnt sound like much !

yikes ! maybe their better at the upgrades now ? i was hoping for enough power to cut my times by .21-.25 at the dragway !

im going to get the ecu anyways and do a test and then when the jwt comes in compare the two.

Yeah my midrange was better - something like +8-12 I think. I don't have my charts here at work right now. You can definately feel the difference and it's easy enough to connect & disconnect in a matter of seconds.

well i just shipped my ecu out to technosquare this afternoon and hope to have it back soon. the best i can do is put the chariot on the 1/4 mile track and race like hail ! to see what the gains are for me.

maybe one day i can come off some cash for some dyno work. question: can the dyno shop guys tune the car while you are there ? or do they not mess with that kinda stuff ?

will report back soon !

If I did not have the MEVI and never planned to get it I would be using a GForce ECU.

BTW I gained 2hp and 3ft-lb (peak) from my JWT ECU, PR intake midpipe, and catback according to my dyno. Impressive huh

im no expert on the subject but the g force upgrade is 380 and you get it back real quick versus the jwt at 565-600 bucks and it takes 2 months.

maxima + NO MEVI = gforce/ Technosquare ecu

maxima + MEVI = jwt ecu

If I didn't have plans to run the MEVI, I probably would have gotten the G-force because of it's price and quick turn-around. I need to get to the dyno and see what my JWT ecu did for me.

Sometimes I wish I could have driven my Maxima with the JWT ECU and stock intake manifold. I'd imagine it would have been one torquey SOB. Even though the raised limiter of 7000rpms is overkill, it would let you get the optimal shift into 2nd. The ideal shift point for the 1-2 shift with the stock manifold is about 6800rpms.

i talked to the guy at technosquare after i already purchased mine off someone from ebay and i was told by him that it gradually increaes timing....he admitted not much difference in the low end but said mid range gains were 10-15 horsepower and 20-25ft of torque with a 12 degree advance in timing

That would be 2-3x my gains and twice the original figures posted years back

technosquare shipped out my ecu the day they got it !!!

Danny emailed me today, he got my ecu in ( i sent it overnight yesterday), he has already upgraded it, shipped it out and emailed me back a fed ex tracking number. Says will be back by the end of the week. ( Thursday or Friday)

WHAT THA ? Technosquare is on the ball and is certainly no nonsense ! Highly Recommend on customer service and hard work ! I will be testing the ecu out this saturday night at the dragway ! There having Midnight Madness and I will report in with times !

Proper Way to Dyno:

If I can save up some spare cash ( which is hard to come by ) I would do a dyno. What would be the right way to do this. from what i have read. You should put in the stock ecu and drive around for a week and then go get the dyno, and then put in the upgraded ecu and have it in about a week and go back to the same dyno shop. Would this be correct ? Somebody let me know so I wont be wasting my cash !
