How do I know to buy Cali or Fed spec Y-pipe for '99
I was going to get a y-pipe and thought that either the cali or fed spec would fit. So i was going to buy the Fed spec. Then Budget asked me which kind of factory y-pipe i had on there now. I guess the 99's are specific to one or the other? How can i tell which one will fit my car?

Aren't the Cali spec y-pipe's more restrictive than Fed spec?
I just went out and looked inder my hood. I see 3 "plugs" in between the motor and the cover that goes over the spark plugs.....are those my o2 sensors?. They are plugs w/ green release buttons and red/purple wires running in the backs of them...........
If so looks like its Fed spec, Thanks

Another way to tell if fed/cali spec.
Raise your hood. Look for a shiny metal identification tag fastened to the passenger side of firewall. The top row is the Vehicle Identification Number, starting with J. The second row is model information. The first five characters are BLHUL. The 12th character is the destination:
N = Canada
V = California
U = US, not California

yes there should be 3 plugs on the front of the motor between the motor and the radiator but if you do have 4 you will also have another one on top of the motor on the passenger side .. just check that sticker on the hood it will most likely tell you if your fed or cali
