I think the supercharger used was a V1 which is much louder than the V2.

All the money put into a car and only a gain of 70 hp? Sad.....

Here's a question, what is it with people and their fetishes for tv's, dvd's, and playstations in a car? THAT'S WHAT YOUR LIVING ROOM IS FOR!! LEAVE THAT **** AT HOME!

Ok, rant over, but I'd still like to know what the logic is behind that.

Wasn't this the mostly modded Maxima ever? I also heard that all those mods only gave it low 14's on the 1/4 mile???? Seems a little slow for everything it had

It's auto and heavy, a Maxima in stock form is 0-60 in 7.4 and 1/4 mile in 15.5 (1998 5 speed). With just a SC kit it ran 0-60 in 5.9 and 1/4 mile in 14.4 (Stillen quotes). So in reality this Maxima is fast for the huge stereo and being an automatic.

t.v.'s, dvd's, and ps2 allow dangerous entertainment between traffic. Nothing feels better than watching Gladiator between redlights and bumper to bumper traffic. Plus it makes the car look more expensive...to me atleast.

its not that fast. According to one site, he's about 231 fwhp, and 0-60 in 7 sec, and 1/4 in 14.5. Guys here on the org have faster and nicer cars. They should have been in the movies.... " The fast and the maxima" ..

That Max is riced out, considering it's HP-to-Sticker ratio.

Did anyone notice at the end of the link that maxNYC posted, it says the car is valued at $75,000? Obviously it's only because the car was in the movie, but you would be an idiot to pay that much for a maxima. You could get an M5 for that much.

When you have little kids and go on nice 500 mile drives you will understand . It is nice to just be able to drive and have the kids entertained on these long trips . Besides there is not much for them to look at from San Diego to San Francisco on the I-5 part of the drive.

WTF!
PERFORMANCE STATS
Produces 265 Horsepower @ 6,100 rpms
Maximum engine speed is 6,900 rpms
Does 0-60 in 7.1 seconds
Does 0-100 in 15.4 seconds
1/4 mile in reached in 14.5 seconds at 98 mph
Top speed is 145 mph
Pulls .89 g’s on the skidpad
Ran a slalom course at 66 mph
Curb weight is 3,895 lbs

I expected better times with all the mods they did to the car, but I guess 20 g's of extra electonics slowed it the ***** down. Oh well cool links anyway.

50 hp, 50 tq I suppose that is pretty good for an intake, catback and some p&p plus engine work.

No, it won't sound remotely the same. Remember, most of those car sounds were dubbed in later. It may not have even been a Maxima you heard.

Everyone knocks that car for what Craig did, but guess what, he didn't pay for any of it. This is what he does for a living, he is in marketing. He promotes these things. The decals are there for a reason. The TV's, DVD's, all that crap, it was all there for a purpose. To make him money. The orange Supra in the movie was his too. The Skyline in the 2nd movie was his, he was a technical advisor for both movies, helped pick out the cars, and so on. The man is good at what he does and makes quite a bit of money at it.

Is the car worth $75K, not even close. But that number is just there to fool people who don't know any better, AKA 99% of the people who saw the movies and got interested in the import scene. It's just like any other commercial or advertisement, they exaggerate things. Yeah, they claim it's the most modified Maxima in the world. And almost everyone who reads that doesn't know any better, and will believe it is. They don't know Kevin, or Tony, or Jason, or any of us that actually have more modified Maximas. And I don't see how anyone can get offended at that comment. Not even everyone on this forum knows about all the members here with cars more modified than Craig's, so how can those marketing guys and movie people know? It's not like any one here is world famous for modifying a Maxima.
