need a little help on gauge lighting..

ok guys i got my 2nd gauge cluster for my LED project. However....on the back of the dials themselves, it is blue tinted where the numbers light up. SO, when i did a test run on my pure white LED's it came out light blue. NOT what i wanted. However with the stock bulbs in, it looks white again. i need some suggestions as to how to get this to be a nice bright white color, using LED's. I was thinking maybe amber led's might work.

anyone have any ideas...

thanks
Cris

LED color

Don't use amber!!!!!!!
Remember back to when you were a kid. Blue and yellow make GREEN !!!
You will most probably have to figure out how to get rid of the blue numbering and change it white. There is no color combo that will create white. Are you using regular buls or LED's? Let me know because I am looking to do the same mod and don't know where to get super white LED's or bulbs.
Thanx
Maximeyez.

The blue gauge film

Is it actually a film? If that is the case you may want to try using an exacto blade or razor blade, and lightly cut the film around the inside edge of the numbers and lines, then slowly peel it away.
Keep me informed on what happens because I want to do the same thing. I am trying to get the same type of lighting in the Lexus LS400. The lights are super bright. Where did you get the LED's from? I have been searching the web for LED's that will give off enough light to really make this mod worth while, but no luck! Are the one's you're using direct fit or did you have to do any other type of work on them.
I want to do this the easiest way possible so please help me out

Thanx

well its not a film, i know that much b/c i took apart my spare cluster and looked at it and tried to peel it off. NO LUCK.... i will probably get my LED's from www.superbrightleds.com, and it will more than likely have to be some custom work involved. I dont mind that so much as this whole blue tint crap on the back of the guage face is ****ing me off
