gonna be nice to you... there is a section in the 4th gen forums... at the top... it will tell you what to do when your check engine light comes on... and it will tell you what your code means

Just so you don't feel alone, I'm having the same problem on my 95 maxima. Ive been reading the service bulletins and there's several known problems with the 95/96 maximas. Wiring harness, water leaking onto ecu, etc... I'm in the process of having these all replaced and its a huge inconvenience. making me appreciate the car less and less with each problem.

I get 8 different error codes off the ECU so we know there has to be a problem that is triggering it all.

You're in the right place. . .spend 6 mos here, read as much as possible, and you'll learn more than you ever did in college.

I had the same problem

Hey, I had the same problem a few months ago. I check engine light stayed on and I noticed the stalling happened sporatically. One day I could drive fine all day. The next it might stall on me twice. It turned out to only be the coolant temp sensor. It cost about $20 and can be changed in 10-15 minutes. If the sensor is bad it can send the ecu a bad reading causing the ecu to retard the amount of gas and spark the engine recieves, thus causing the stalling. The best way to find the cts is to located the hose that comes from the top of the radiator and follow it to where it connect to the engine. It looks similar to a spark plug. I hope this helps,

good luck
