My car has been showing problems starting where it takes a few turns of the key to start. All of the lights are on and I have a new starter. The shift lock does not engage and the auto transmission can be shifted through the gears without the key in the ignition. Is this just the shift lock solenoid causing problems, ignition, or is my transmission in need of repair. Thanks.
