gauge problems....
gauge problems....
Today, my friend and I attempted to install my new indiglo gauges. We got everything apart and the cluster out, but the new gauges did not fit. We put everything back together, without the new faces and now my temp gauge, after I start the car, is a little above quarter the way up, and after running a little bit is almost at the H level. Once it is off though, it goes all the way down. Second, I have the digital odometer, and now that does not light up. Any ideas on what to do to fix either of these problems? Thanks a lot.

for the coolant temp guage, it sounds like you just set the needle off. since its at 1/4 the way up when you start the cold car...it might be a 1/4 off, hmmm, deep
I would start it dead cold, and set it to C, so when it shuts off its fine, but when it starts again, knows its place. for the digital odo, sounds like something didnt get hooked back up when the gauges went back or... but im not sure =/ never too good to mess with odometers IMO

yea i think ill have to take it apart again sadly and slide the temp gauge down
, but when the car is off the gauge is all the way down. and we didnt really mess with the odo, just the gauges. it still shows milage, just no light. thanks for the ideas tho.

I think we got them all, but I'll have to double check it. I was thinking about replacing LED anyway, so maybe this is my chance to. Do the light and display (milage) have different plugs? Thanks.
um, well u could have disrupted the led itself. the voltage for the digital ODO and the little led are the same i believe. the little prongs of the LED coming loose during the removal and install was more of my concern. put a new bright white LED or different color in when u change it

Ok, so when you get the new gausges, you remove everything and slide them over the needles. Becuase when I removed the needles on my old gauges, they break off and then you can't replace them. Plus if you remove the needles on the tech and speedo, ho are you going to get the set up correctly again?
on our specific cars, you dont pull the needles. On the tach and speedo...its really easy to set them. then the car is off, your going 0 miles per hour, and the engine is turning at 0 revolutions per minutes...
on the ODO light, hopefully you just blew the bulb...you can just switch bulbs with some other indicator (like the TCS bulb in my cluster...i don't have TCS) or get new ones, but they're a bltch to find.
assuming you have little tiny bulbs behind your cluster like i do.

Can someone help me out with my problem? I installed them with little problem, but now I cannot get any power. The line from the car has power, but the line coming out of the gauges doen't read anything on the voltmeter. Any suggestions? I need help fast.
I have Reverse Indglo gauges sitting in my drawer, reason being, I took of the entire Guage Cluster which was a Huge Pain in the @ss, took off the Platic Glass Shield, then discovered that I need to do some Soddering for the Cable of the Dual Color switch, Also, I noticed that it looked like I would need to take off the Old Guage cover and put in the one I bought, instead of placeing it over the Existing which is what I thought would have to be done. Guages are F****in stupied pain in the @ss for first timers like me who only have Hypothesis's on how to do things, and the 4th Gen How To's for installing Gauges Is very UN-Detailed and SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
