I have 2 rear GR2 and installation instruction came with it, "REMOVE RETAINER STRING BEFORE INSTALLATION".( did'nt find any string on the shocks).Another warning, "Nitrogen gas within the shock may seep into the working chamber and may result into a noisy operation or reduce performance.To prevent this problem,stroke the shocks(pushing is down and up) until you can feel constant resistance throughout the full stroke in each direction before installation". Are these procedures really necessary? T I A

 

sounds like it means "remove retainer SPRING before installation" i dont know about the other instructions, if those are necessary or not
