My friend just called me this morning. He stated that he couldn't get his 96 maxima out of park. He described it as not being able to move the shifter back after he stepped on the brake. His car is an auto by the way. Thanks.

 

Nevermind. Problem solved. He fixed it. It was something with the black platis lining that surrounded the shifter. He moved it a bit and now it works.
