Oxygen sensor went bad.

Yep, the check engine light went on, AGAIN! Went to the dealer and they did a diagnosis for free this time because i just had my Air flow meter replaced for 700 dollars.

They said that one of my rear oxygen sensors went bad,

Im wondering how many o2 sensors are in the back of the car?, i thought only 1 in the back

And can you see the o2 sensor from just laying down and looking under the car?

And how hard are they for me to install? i dont know that much about cars.

I searched and found www.buyoxygensensors.com and was wondering which is the best, OEM or universal, and Denzo or Bosch?

Thank you guys in advance for your help =) The .org is definatly going to save me money if i can learn how to install it on my own, the dealership wanted 300 bucks to replace it. I said no this time to them ripping me off, but need info to get a new one now=) thanks.

VERY easy to change that o2 sensor. Look under your car...under the rear passenger's floorboard. Find the exhaust pipe, then find the last catalytic converter...aft of the catalytic converter is the rear o2 sensor (look for a wire coming out of the exhaust pipe)

Bosch is the same as OEM...pretty much.

You can get a new discounted one for ~$400 or a used one for way less

If your car is Cali-spec then you have 4 O2 sensors (2 in front & 2 in back). If your car is Fed-spec then you have 3 O2 sensors (2 in front & 1 in back). Here is an image: http://www.courtesyparts.com/A32_O2-sensors.html

If you get OEM then it comes with the connector thing so you can just plug it in. If you get a universal one, you'll have to connect/splice the wires yourself using your old connectors. If you don't know how to do that, then get the OEM ones Instructions: http://www.automedicsupply.com/walkeruniv.html

The o2 sensors at the stealership are some sort of modified Bosch.

Be advised , not all O2 sensors are created equal.

The O2 sensore that are manufactured for the aftermarket are not held to the same tolerances to those sold to Nissan.

remember, you get what you pay for
