valve cover gaskets

Anybody know a way to find out what is included in a fel pro gasket set. I need to replace my valve cover gaskets. Two different parts stores are telling me two different stories. One says the set comes with plug tube gaskets and grommets and the other says without. part number: Fel Pro VS50494R.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows a good source let me know.

Finally, any opinions on brands are welcome.

Thanks

Well the first question is, how much are you paying?

If the price is negligable (sp?), I would consider OEM gaskets/seals.

Per bank of cylinders/valve cover, my local dealer wanted $30 or so. I found them on-line for about $20. To completely reseal a valve cover gasket, you need the valve cover gasket and 3 oil seals. These oil seals, seal the inner three holes in the valve cover (basically where your coil packs plug into). The valve cover gasket alone just replaces the outer rim of the valve cover.

I've dealt with non-oe seals before, for a maxima, and was disappointed. I've found fel pro to be good in other applications, but non-oe seals in other apps, I found a "no-go".

My $.02 cents.

I am stuck out in rural Gerogia. I am looking at AutoZ**E and Advanced A**O. Cost is around 60 bucks. Any feelings about Beck/A?

The funny thing is we have a dealership so I can check with them; but, its a pain.

Car has 247,000 miles and everything rubber is now solid leaking rubber.

Thanks

Does 60 bucks buy you both sets of valve cover seals ( including 6 oil seal rings).

If so, you're paying about how much I paid at the local dealership. And that's saying something. I always have to pay more if I want something OEM (20-30% than norm), and now.

I wish I could quote you part no's, but I can't. Well atleast this gives you a free bump.

Mine has 226K miles. My rear valve cover WAS leaking, and now it stopped. I was going to replace until i got stuck replacing a fuel injector. I checked again, and there was no leakage ( I returned 'em). Bah.....anyway free bump.
