brake pads

what are the best aftermarket brake pads for least amount of fade and most stopping power?

Hawk? or metal masters? or proACT ceramic? what do you guys use or suggest?

Is it true that you should never get new rotors and pads at the same time?

I thught that getting new pads and rotors was kind of recommended...I have AXXIS metal master pads with slotted/drilled rotors...I changed them together and I have no problems.

When I bought my Powerslot rotors, the instruction sheet stated to use new pads on them. I bought the Hawk HPS pads to use with them. I am very happy with this setup.

I belive that Porterfield Pads are the best pads that you can buy for the Maxima. I have some Axxis metal masters, they dust like crazy and the stopping power is not all that.

Porterfields are sweet but I went with Raybestos Quite Stops. For me they work just fine, even when I am towing. A bit of dust but that doesn't bother me since I know I am safely stopping!

You shouldn't be dusting the with the Quiet Stops. That's the point of ceramic. Are your rotors warped?

so what are the best preforming pads...don't care about noise or dust or whatever..., the hawk? why doesn't hawk make pads for our back brakes? What should I get for the back brakes since hawk doesn't make them for our rears?

Those new akebono proAct ceramics look interesting. So do the Pro Satisfied line. Especially since they are D3EA® testing. Haven't heard of this certification till these brakes came out.

depends...are you willing to swap the pads out for street pads for everyday driving? What's your price range? I'm biased towards Hawk, cuz Hawk used to sponsor Solo2.

Stock in the rears for now. In fact, my rears still lock up before my fronts for single stops. For repeated stops, I'm not sure which fades quicker.
