car got broken into....

well i have been waiting for this to happen to the car it does attact too much attention i guess, good and bad. They only took the face for my radio and some cd's, but they ripped the dash apart nicelly, i would hope that you would atleast know how to take the danm thing apart, you can see from the pictures they tried to pry the thing open but it wouldnt go, plus i had CD's in my arm rest and on the floor in the back. And they even tried to get into my trunk cause my fuel door was open, but i have my look on. The one think that sucks is the dash is all brused up the rest can be replaced easally

well here are some pictures, and im going to orded a new radio:

First...let me say sorry to hear about it...it sux

Second, NEver leave your face plate in the car..that is what probably "invited" or enticed them in.

on a side note...I've found that my tinted cars have attracted more attention than my non tinted. They must figure you've got something to hide with the tint

I recently had my face plate stolen and remote(???).

Right after that I finished installing my alarm. If I parked out on the street regularly I would definitely have gotten an aftermarket alarm sooner with paging capability.

It sucks that they smashed your car up like that as faceplates have little or no value.

same thing happened to me last year...sorry to see man. you'll find that damn glass in your car for forever unless they/you do a really good job of cleaning it out. my dash stuff never sat right again always just a little off...i shoulda been a bigger pain to the place that fixed it. atleast they just broke your window, they pryed my window frames to get them to completely shatter inside.

hope insurance and the body shop is good to you!! goodluck

damn that sux man. sorry to hear.

but if you are going to park outside overnight, then you must add a really good alarm system and expect such things to happen to your car when you mod the hell out of it. i wouldnt mod my **** that much if i was parkin outside overnight, its just a risky situation!

I keep my doors unlocked. some of my friends tell me I'm crazy, but I think about it like this:
if someone wants to steal something out of my car, they're going to get in anyway. I'd rather them open the door than break the window.

it's not like thieves randomly pick cars to rob by checking who's door is unlocked. they'll most likely pick their target, then try the door. if the door's locked, they're not gonna run away, they'll bust up the window and take what they want anyway.

sorry to see that happen though, good luck with repairs, etc.

IMO thats just plain STUPID. if they brake the window, then the alarm goes off (if u got shock sensor) and then they have little time to do what they wanna do and then run !

if u leave ur doors open, they simply get in, close the door and take their time doing the business!

Sorry to hear that your car was broken into. I definitely know how you feel; my car has been broken into four times already in less than 3 years. Oddly enough, the places where I have parked have porsches and benzes parking, yet my car seems to have been. The last time my was broken into, the whole dash was sitting in my passenger seat. I could see into my "engine bay"(almost....)

so after they broke into ur ride the first time, u still drove around and left the car parked with the window broken and all?
makes no sense @ all. why dont you just leave the keys in the car and invite them to take the whole thing man...

well i left the car in the exact same place which is right in front of my bulding and was waiting to go and have the window replaced, i didnt have any other options, i had to go to a job interview and i took my fathers car instead to make sure nothing happens even the cop told me to leave it there and get the window fixed

Also the fact that i live about two blocks from a school for troubled kids might have something to do with it

Sorry man, my car got broken into 2 weeks ago in my parking garage. They busted my window, stole my cd case (40cds) and went through all my papers and everything in my compartments, not sure if they took anything out of them, then they even took all my loose change out of the center (total value... ummm, $2.00 tops...)

It wasn't the 300-400$ of the cds, or the 200$ window, it was knowing someone felt it was better to cost me 200$ damage to steal my things. And then knowing that they were in possesion of my belongings... that ****es me off more then anything. I would kill the person.

Was your factory alarm armed? If anyone opens my door, or hood the alarm goes off. Unless they crawl through the window I don't see how they can get in the car (unless they are pros, which these people obviously are not.)

Really sorry to hear about your car, and twice, that is messed up (especially since they just took your face plate, what is the value in that?) You have a great looking car, really like the color matched door pillars and of course the five speed. I would take your shift and brake *** off, those are probably next

It really looks like someone is just trying to **** you off, and might know what your schedule is. Do you know anyone who might want to do this, or who knows what all is inside your car?

Yeah, that's pretzel logic for sure. That worked in VT in the late 80's, but even the face of Burlington VT has changed since then. People also used to tape cheesy signs on their cars in Manhattan, "NO RADIO" My grandpa told me that did not work either. The idea is to make a thief's life a bi***, not easier.

Street Reeper, they prolly went through the window, or pulled his hood release and undid his battery so no alarm.

Actually one night I had my window down and unlatched my hood (without opening my door), the alarm immediatly went off. It seems at least on the 96, that the alarm is hooked up to the hood too. If someone is really good I am sure that they could get the alarm off by unhooking the battery in minimal time, I was just wondering what these peoples method was, or whether the battery had been disconnected.

well the damage is at 1057 minus the deductible of 500 so im getting 557 to get everything fixed, now i start searching for some i30 seats, get a new radio, install a Viper 690 Responder, and place a bat right by my door...

And i think they went trough my window both time cause the car was locked both times when i got to it

and here is the damage to the radio:

now i have to figure out how to get that cd out
