Cylinder 1 misfire - Electrical Short?

All - thanks in advance for assistance with this one.

Started getting 0608 ECU code (cyl 1 misfire) a few weeks back. Having been down the ignition coil road before, I swapped the coil pack on cyl 1 with cyl 3, and the spark plug on cyl 1 with cyl 2. After this, I'm STILL getting the same ECU code - Cyl 1 misfire and the Max is running rough on only 5 cylinders.

About a year ago, it was at the dealer for the same problem and they said that they opened the wiring harness at the firewall and "found red wire with black strip broken". Said they repaired it and it was working fine after that.

That was before I knew about the coil packs though and I've since thought they swapped out a coil back and were BSing me about the real problem.

Has anyone had this particular problem or does anyone know where I can look to track down this apparent short?

Thx,
Aidan

I would suggest testing the fuel injector. This could be causing your misfire. Since you switched coil pack and still get same code, its definitely not the coil.
