Transmission sensor cracked.. how bad is that?

When I was changing CV axles 2 weeks ago, I was checking tranny (5sp) for leaks and found that transmission sensor is cracked in the spot where it's being held with a bolt. So now it is not held with a bolt obviously at all, but I did not see it leaking. However I am getting more concerned that it may fall out on one nasty bump and ruin transmission, which will be left without oil.

Here is the pic with a spot marked where it's cracked. (Borrowed from StygianMax's Nissan: 'DigiMax' page).

Put a large washer under the bolt to overlap the
other part of the sensor

That's a good idea, I did not think of that, will definitely try that out, just out of curiosity, how much is a new one?

You should be fine. mine had been cracked for ages. Just look occasionally to see if it moved, it shoudlnt, It takes a small hammer to pop it out from the inside, so i doubt it would fall out.
