Electrical problems
A strange thing started happening with my car:
Start the car in the morning - no warning lights, no seatbelt warning buzzer, no tach, no climate control light, NOTHING. The car starts immediately, though. Shifts flawlessly as well. Turn car off, wait a few seconds, turn it on again - all is fine, most of the time. Sometimes I have to restart it a few times. This happens 1-2x a week
A similar thing happens (although rarely) while driving. Stop at a light - everything shuts off. No tach, no spedo, nothing. Engine/tranny (auto) work normally. Stop the car, turn off/on and everything comes back.
Also, two oxygen sensors (front) and a knock sensor failed on me at the same time (giving a CEL) last week. Related to the other problem? Maybe not, but I don't know
The car has 40k miles. The battery is brand new, all fuses are functional, the alt puts out the right voltage.
Suggestions as to what to look at? This is getting really annoying.
TIA

I suspect the harness maybe damaged and shorts sometimes, not sure though...
I am 99,9% sure oxygen sensor triggered the knock sensor, so whe you replace oxygen s, KS shouldn't give you a code. You can also check the resistance yourself of the KS, which should be between 500 and 600 kOhms.
If I am wrong someone correct me

Well a similar thing happened in a friends car (95 intrepid) we tracked it down to a ignition control relay in the dash. Just a suggestion not saying thats whats wrong with your car. It wouldn't shift out of gear, guages would go dead with all lights, etc. It got worse and worse until he had to turn the key off and on 20 times to get it to work right. Sometimes it would happen sitting at an intersection. Hope you solve your problem. Nick
