I just went to fill her up and as I was putting the fuel cap back on, I noticed the area around the nozzle hole, where there is 1 small hole below and one small hole to the left, the left hole was covered in what looks like to be rust or the formation of rust. It was brown but had white specs on it, and about the size of a dime.

Never had a problem with this with my previous car so it worries me a bit. Is this a common problem with our Maximas? And how can I at least stop this from spreading?

I also have some rust stains, but no to the point hte corroded metal is detaching in flakes. I dont worry about it.
