Beware kyb gr2 + weapon r coilovers

This weekend I received my KYB GR2 front struts, and when I went to install my coilovers on them, I noticed that the sleeve wouldnt slide down past the threaded nut on the strut assembly. In order to overcome this little problem, I had to grind down the little threaded nut so that it was the same circumferance as the actual strut tube, so that the coilover sleeve would pass. After about half an hour or so of grinding on the bench grinder, the sleeves fit on them like a charm. I am happy with the front end now. It is a lot better. I have AGX's on the rear, and they ride well too. let me know what you think, or if you have had similar problems as such.

I'd be kinda careful with GR2's and coilovers.. there is a good chance they'll blow because of the super high spring rate.

don't waist your money on coilovers especially on stock shock and struts.

i agree.. coil over stock shocks= badd. u will bounce around like a pogo stick.. ur handling wil be worse than stock.. and you shocks will blow in a week.. so youll have to install again with new shocks.. if u get coilovers.. combine them with good adjustable shocks.. agx, koni yellow or illumina... dont waste your money.. or save up and just get REAL COILOVERS..

Im sorry for not being able to post pics, but to answer all questions, well....

1. the ride before i installed my f/gr2 r/agx, was bad, especially because my rear shocks were totally gone, my car was bouncing and rocking like a see-saw.(It looked like I had hydro's)

now the ride is more tame, but I don't think coilovers work too well in the maxima due to weight of the car. (I had them in my accord, and it was great, even on stock shocks/struts) They don't bounce, but you feel the "G's" of the travel or the obstruction you travel over.

2. I am thinking of replacing my coilovers with some sprint/maxspeed/intrax springs. I am not sure If I will grown on these coilovers. Don't get me wrong the ride is great, but It feels too sporty for me, right now, im riding in a maxima, on 19's, always having girls in the car, I constantly tell myself this isnt a civic or 2dsc, it is a maxima, a luxury 4dsc. :-), so it should ride like one.

The GR2's do bolt right on, and they look so nice and shiny on the car....
